A drop of the hottest boots of the year

As the season fires up into the game-heavy winter months and the run-up to the festive period, Pro Direct Soccer and Nike have dropped a new colour-up collection to give the world’s ‘champion’ players a level up. Hot on the heels of the Mercurial Dream Speed drop a few weeks back, it’s the turn of the Nike Phantom Vision and Nike Phantom Venom to be freshened up, this time with a Bright Mango makeover.

First of all, the PhantomVNM arrives in a vibrant “Bright Mango/White” combination, while the PhantomVSN takes on a more low-key pairing of “Dark Grey” and “Bright Mango”. The VNM adopts a go-to Nike colour palette than was a popular design on the T90 Laser IV series, so it feels only right that Nike have carried it onto their new-generation shooting silo.

The Phantom Venom features a hi-vis mango hue, covering most of the upper bar the classic white Swoosh, outlined in black with that polygon effect that graces all the Elite models, ready to glisten below those winter-night lights. The soleplate is predominantly white with mango tipped studs while the black lining and tech call outs add subtle touches that contrast nicely with the vivid orange of the bold mango colour.

It is roles reversed on the Vision, with the contrast-coloured details lighting up a black canvass. The popular ‘Just Do It’ and Phantom graphics Nike introduced on this generation of boots are back and prominent as ever on both the Vision and the Venom, after taking a back seat on some recent releases.

Under the bonnet, the Phantom Fire range boasts all the ground-breaking tech of previous versions and the Venom’s still have those injected blades on the upper for physics-defying bend and power. The Vision’s still guarantee zero distractions during those match-winning moments thanks to the genius ‘Ghost Lace System’ and Dynamic ‘Fit Collar’ while the Nike Grip top cloth holds the foot in place during quick chops and rapid acceleration.

As you would expect, these boots are reserved strictly for winners and this limited-edition drop will only be worn by Nike players who tasted glory last season. So, expect to see players including Raheem Sterling, Kevin de Bruyne, Robert Lewandowski, Edison Cavani and Marco Veratti sporting the boots on pitch for the first time this week in the UEFA Champions League group stages.

If you fancy getting your hands on them, then the new Nike Phantom Fire Pack is available to cop from 21st October online at and also in LDN19 Store, Carnaby Street, London.
