To commemorate the tournament which will be played across 12 different countries for the first time ever

With UEFA Euro 2020 just a few months away, adidas has kicked off the excitement with the unveiling of the official match ball for the summer tournament.

Dubbed “Uniforia,” the match ball is named after both the unity and the euphoria that top-level national-team competition can bring, and was designed to celebrate the inclusiveness that next year’s tournament will inspire throughout the continent.

The ball features black brush-stroke style lines running across the ball, which symbolises the blurring of boundaries. The ball also celebrates the revamped format of the tournament itself, and its 60th year of competition. The UEFA Euro 2020 tournament will be played across 12 different European countries for the first time ever.

“When designing an Official Match Ball, we always look to reflect culture; what is the spirit of the street that we can proudly showcase in the stadium,” explained Anika Marie Kennaugh, Product Designer at adidas.

“What we saw in our cities – all our key cities – is the need to come together and unite for change. As one of the major sporting events in the world, Euro 2020 is a great opportunity to proudly showcase the power of unity and to celebrate sport as a connector of people, ideas and creativity.”

UEFA EURO 2020 will kick off in Rome on June 12, 202 and will come to its conclusion a month later with the final at Wembley. Fixtures are set to take place in 12 host cities, including: London, Glasgow, Dublin, Bilbao, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, St. Petersburg, Munich, Budapest, Rome, Bucharest, and Baku.
