PUMA Launch The New Green Italy Renaissance Kit

“A New Wave Rises” for the Azzurri’s new jersey

14th October 2019

“A New Wave Rises” for the Azzurri’s new jersey

Instead of the Azzurri’s signature blue jersey, PUMA has just unveiled its latest jersey for the Italian National Team which boasts a royal green colourway inspired by the Renaissance period.

The motifs throughout the design are taken from Renaissance fabrics and architecture which have been interwoven throughout the fabric. The colour is also a nod to the green shirt worn by the Italian team when they defeated Argentina 2-0 back in December of 1954. Following the victory, the youth teams adopted the colour, while blue was reserved only for the senior squad. The piece is then elevated with a navy blue collar and sleeves, in addition to a golden PUMA insignia and Italy’s celebrated club badge on the chest.

An official press release states: “The kit marks the start of a new era for the national side, as young players continue to rise up within the Azzurri squad — there are twelve players in the latest squad called to Coverciano who are 25 or younger.”

The new green kit will debut this week as part of Italy’s Euro 2020 qualification campaign. Fans can purchase PUMA’s new Italy National Team kit now online.
